Just a heads up, the studio explicitly won’t guarantee kiln firing outcomes or take responsibility if your pieces crack, warp, or have glaze issues. This is a pretty standard but still frustrating reality of the craft.

The best place to have a little date and try something new! Efren and Debra are extremely welcoming from the moment you walk in and are the absolute sweetest, kindest and most patient humans ever! Falcon Pottery & Art Studio stands out by offering targeted, high-level courses like their “Level Up” and “Production Potter Session,” making it absolutely ideal for anyone looking to seriously advance their skills.
A buddy of mine took their advanced wheel-throwing class last month and hasn’t stopped raving about how much their technique improved.
They even sell fractional kiln usage, like half or full shelves, giving independent makers a ton of flexibility.
The only downside is that they have very limited classes available on the weekends. Since there are no classes on Sundays, Saturday slots can fill up incredibly fast. You really have to plan ahead if you work a standard Monday through Friday schedule.

PJ Romero ArtWorks is led by Phillip John Romero, a disabled combat veteran and experienced multimedia fine artist.
He views art as a healing process, using his university-level teaching background to share his rehabilitative passion for working with clay. The focused environment here is just as relaxing as taking a yoga class in El Paso.
His classes are completely accessible to all ages, and he even runs professional development workshops for local businesses.
You do need to block out some serious time, though. The classes last for a full three hours, which is quite a commitment if you have a tight schedule.
But spending that time learning directly from a recognized artist who used to hold workshops at the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts and the Centennial Museum is an incredible opportunity.

I recently attended one of their weekend events and was blown away by the intimate atmosphere. It honestly requires the same level of focus and patience as sitting down for a piano lesson in El Paso.

I’ve taken workshops, classes and I’ve been an intern here and all of them have been a great experiences. From the owner, to the teachers, to the interns, everybody makes you feel at home.
This place is such a great community that I recommend it even if you’ve never had experience with arts or crafts. You will learn great skills, socialize with interesting people and hopefully find an enriching hobby or even a trade. There are workshops and classes for kids and adults as well as special events (you can even make your own event here!) One hundred percent recommended.

This gallery is a hidden treasure in El Paso. Walking in you don’t know what to expect as it looks like a residential hunting but they have beautiful and extensive collection of Mexican folk art. The owners are so welcoming and they will guide you through the gallery telling you about the pieces and the artists. They even host pottery and painting classes too. If you’re looking for something different to do, I fully recommend you stop by.

This place is a gem in West El Paso. Andrea and her family have a comprehensive collection of beautiful pottery. The artwork is gorgeous, and the Mexican artisans from which the pieces come are compensated at a fair price. Fair Trade.
