Parents we interviewed value their month-to-month booking because it means there are no long-term contracts or hidden fees.
Students like the scheduling flexibility because it allows them to combine music lessons with other activities, such as yoga classes or martial arts programs.
The only slight downside we found is that there is a one-time $35 registration fee added to the first payment. Parents we spoke with also said that getting after-school appointments can be a hassle, since those are their popular times.

Carmen’s strong focus on music theory and sight reading also gives students the skills to learn any song on their own long after lessons end. We like that students learn the story and feeling behind every piece they play.
Her 7+ years of teaching experience show in her positive reinforcement during lessons. She guides her students to explore music on their own and become self-proficient musicians.
Others we spoke with love that Carmen offers styles rarely found elsewhere, like video game soundtracks or Latin American compositions.
The slight catch of doing lessons with Carmen, though, is that her high-standard teaching style can be overwhelming for people who want casual lessons just for fun or who can only practice occasionally.

Whiptail Music stands out for its warm, welcoming vibe and approachable instructors in their piano classes for kids and adults.
People we spoke to say lessons are fun and engaging while still teaching proper technique, rhythm, and reading skills.
We love that students can try a free first lesson to see if it works for them. Those we interviewed said the trial lesson helped them determine their piano-playing capabilities.
They only have two piano instructors, Adrian Santos and Renee Guzman. Both have studied music education at university. We think their knowledge shines through when teaching students the different major and minor chord combos.
The team is also flexible and works around school, work, or even those dermal filler appointments easily.
The only slight con to consider is that if both Renee and Adrian have full schedules, there may be a wait for appointments.
That said, we do like that they have a rehearsal space available. Students we spoke to said that in between piano lessons they can book out time to practice solo or with others.

We love that students get a free first class either in person or online, so they can try it with no risk at all. That’s exactly what we did! We took an online class and appreciated how kind and patient the instructors are.
