With a kid and two pups to look after and my writing, I’ve started to struggle with keeping up my hair care, but it’s not like I want to give up my fluffy look either! Finally, some friends I do pilates with suggested: why not a hair salon?
But with so many hair salons here in El Paso, it was unexpectedly tricky to settle on one! Lucky me, I got some friends together and went for a girls’ day out checking out the very best: and we turned up with favorites for just about any style you could want.

Going to a hair salon can be a luxurious experience for folks, and one particular favorite name for that was the House of Beauty. Locals were pretty happy to praise the spot for its relaxing approach, so we couldn’t resist a visit of our own!
The first thing that stood out to us was the salon itself. We were pleased to walk into a pretty well-maintained space, with ample waiting areas for customers. Their equipment was similarly well-maintained from what we got to see.
While there, we got to chat with customers about what drew them to the service. A particular highlight was their coloring, with the team reportedly being pretty thorough with matching the client’s desired hue and shade.
Their styling services also garnered praise for being not only relaxing, but a particular favorite among nervous customers! A few regulars mentioned the services being available for new mothers and pregnant women as well, which is a plus for us!
That being said, we’d advise settling in for a wait if you’re planning to get a treatment here! We did notice there being quite the wait to get services, so coming in early can also help ease the wait some.

Hair extensions can be a fun way of changing up your look and style without having to wait ages for your hair to grow. So with this in mind, we were pleased when locals put the Leyvaru Hair Salon on our radar as a favorite for these!
The health of your hair can affect how well you can wear extensions, and in this regard the salon’s hair consultations drew praise! Customers we got to chat with praised how in-depth these went into their hair and scalp health.
Of course, we got to hear about their hair extensions as well! We found that these looked pretty natural, but the highlight among customers was the durability, lasting long throughout the day without getting loose or uncomfortable.
Another favorite among customers was the flexibility of the team. The team was reportedly good at matching certain styles and specific requests from customers, so if you’ve got a unique style in mind there’s no harm in bringing it to the team!
On the other hand, we did note that the prices for their services can be higher than at other hair salons. We’d advise keeping a budget or saving a trip here as a treat!

Looking for a spot to get your hair, nails and face done without hitting an aesthetic clinic? Then The Beauty Bar might be up your alley. The salon got popular among locals as a favorite spot for beauty services, so we had to see what the fuss was about!
Right off the jump, we immediately appreciated the booking process. We found this pretty streamlined and easy to navigate, and their schedule was easy to navigate. Customers mentioned this making it easy to get appointments!
However, regulars also mentioned their rescheduling process being pretty strict. We’d recommend asking the team beforehand what to do if you need to reschedule or run into an emergency, just in case.
It can be nerve wracking to visit a hair salon, so we were relieved to hear about the team’s approach! On our visit, customers praised how reassuring the team was during consultations and the service, helping them feel at ease.

Hair salons aren’t just for us grown-ups, and as many school dress codes might tell us: kids need to get their hair done as much as we do! In this case, families around El Paso were happy to point us to Urban Cuts as a good spot to get these.
With their spot located in the Bassett Place shopping mall, we found them pretty easy to find, saving on travel time! The actual salon was also clean and comfortable, with a relaxing waiting area to keep customers at ease.
The salon itself was home to various hair services, most of which were also child-friendly! These ranged from basic cuts and trimming to blow outs and coloring for a more unique look.
Of course, it can be a little difficult to decide on a style that works for younger clients. Luckily, customers we got to speak with reassured us that the team’s recommendations were pretty good for these, helping clients get a good cut without much fuss.
Before going in for a service, we’d advise calling ahead to confirm your appointment. A few customers mentioned getting their appointments delayed on short notice, so we’d definitely recommend following up regularly.

When we dropped by, the first thing to catch our eye was the pricing! We found the salon’s prices pretty reasonable, making them perfect for those looking to change their style without breaking the bank.
As their name implies, customers highlighted the salon for their reliable coloring services. These were notably pretty thorough, whether you’re trying to get yur natural hair color back or trying out a new hue.
However, a few customers did mention that the consultation times could be a bit limited! If you have a specific color in mind, we’d recommend bringing a few reference pictures to help guide the team just in case.
