That’s right: no party, be it a birthday or a wedding, feels complete without cake. Think about it, it’s the perfect treat! Comes in different flavors without melting, can be shaped and decorated for any theme, and serves a lot of people all at once. What’s not to love?
Now here’s my situation: there’s no shortage of cake shops here in El Paso, and my family and I have got a quinceaneara to plan a menu for. With official backing to have ourselves a sugar crash, we’ve rounded up our favorite shops to call for any event!

Getting yourself a cake from a dedicated cake shop in El Paso can cost anywhere from $30 to $500, depending on the size, flavors, and how many tiers the ordered cake has.

We’ve got the event planners in El Paso to thank for putting this spot on our radar! Chantilly Cakes got its popularity among couples looking to get themselves the perfect wedding cake, so we couldn’t resist a visit of our own.
The first thing to strike us was just how customizable their cakes were! Customers had their pick of how many tiers their cake would be, various flavors for each tier, and could even submit design references to further personalize their cake.
Speaking of flavors, we were pretty surprised to hear regulars praise their cake tasting as well. Customers could get consultations with the staff where they could freely taste certain flavors, helping them pick without having to commit to a full order just yet.
Finally, we got to hear a fair few words about their timeliness as well. Customers were happy to praise the scheduling at the shop, noting the team being able to keep the cakes fresh and ready for pickup on the day of.
That being said, this did mean that the shop had pretty strict policies for cancelling or rescheduling orders. We’d definitely recommend trying a consultation before committing to ordering from them, just in case.

As much as a completely personalized cake can be fun, sometimes you just want to stop in for a nice treat that looks and tastes good. And locals were all too happy to point us to Greggerson’s Cake Cottage for exactly this!
On our visit, we were pretty pleased to browse their collection of pre-made cake designs. These already spanned various themes and flavors, and we appreciated the wide range of fillings as well.
Service at the store was fairly quick from what we observed. Customers who were buying pre-made cakes got their orders pretty quick, and a few we noticed had custom orders were also attended to in a timely fashion.
That being said, a few regulars did mention that the shop could be pretty limited with some of its add-ons and decorations. If you’re looking to get a specific decoration for your cake, we’d advise calling ahead to check if they can carry it.
Speaking of carrying, the last thing we appreciated was the packaging! Their cakes were boxed in sturdy enough packaging that you’re not likely to drop it or cause it to lose its shape on the way home, saving on some hassle.

Now here’s a name that locals and visitors know pretty well! The Bowie Bakery has been a pretty popular name for anyone looking to get a taste of Mexican baked goods, and with tres leches on the mind, we just had to drop by!
On our visit, we were blown away by the wide variety of baked goods on display. These ranged from wedding cookies and tarts to cakes, of course! Their cakes were pretty varied in designs as well, though we couldn’t resist looking at their tres leches cakes.
With the variety of baked goods there, we also had to appreciate how clean and easy to navigate the bakery was. We found their items sorted and put on their best display, helping customers find any good they’re looking for.
All of these came at surprisingly reasonable prices as well, from what we got to see! We found this pretty handy for customers looking to sample their cakes before buying custom ones for an event.
That being said, the shop could get pretty busy, with limited parking space available at their shop. If you’re planning to buy from here, we definitely recommend coming in as early as you can!

Looking to get a cake but don’t want the usual round or sheet designs? Then Marina’s German Bakery might be up your alley. This spot got recommended to us by locals looking to get more unique cake types for their events!
It wasn’t hard to see why, especially once we got to browse their offerings. The bakery was home to several cake types, a few of which included carrot cakes, Napoleon cakes, and even tiramisu for the coffee fans out there!
While we were there, we got to asking regulars about what drew them to the bakery as well. A particular highlight was their timeliness: the bakery could reportedly deliver cakes even on short notice!
What really caught our attention was their catering services as well! The bakery could be tapped to provide baked goods and custom cakes for various events, making them pretty handy for those planning large parties.
On that note, we’d recommend visiting their physical store or trying their email when ordering. A few customers mentioned that their phone lines can get pretty busy, resulting in longer response times.

Feeling adventurous and want a cake beyond the classic vanilla and chocolate? Then it might be time for a trip down to Suspiros Cakes. The recommendation from locals praising their flavors and sizes put this spot squarely on our radar!
When we dropped by, we got to check out the full host of their cake flavors. While we spotted all-time favorites like tres leches and black forest, we were also pretty starstruck by flavors like piña colada and marzipan.
Another factor that definitely caught our eye was the sizes of their cakes! A few regulars we got to chat with mentioned their cakes being able to easily serve large parties, which we find can be pretty handy for bigger events.
If you’re not able to spot a favorite just yet, don’t worry. Customers reassured us that the staff was more than willing to give recommendations based on customers’ tastes and preferred flavors, helping them discover new favorites as well!
That being said, we’d definitely keep a budget in mind before heading in. Their cakes could be on the pricier side, even for the smaller sizes.
