Pricing & Packages: Our assessment included standard meal pricing and available special packages for private gatherings. Transparent costs help patrons plan premium dining experiences without unexpected financial surprises.

Whether you’re planning a romantic anniversary dinner or hosting visiting business executives, choosing the right venue makes all the difference.

The culinary scene here has evolved significantly, offering high-end steaks and sophisticated tasting menus that rival those of much larger cities.

But finding the best fine dining restaurant in El Paso requires looking past the linen tablecloths to evaluate the actual culinary technique, ingredient quality, and genuine hospitality.

I spent time analyzing local favorites to see which establishments truly deliver a premium culinary experience. Here’s my curated list of the top luxury dining spots for discerning food enthusiasts.

How much does fine dining cost in El Paso?

Fine dining in El Paso typically costs between $50 and $100 per person, though premium steakhouses and extensive wine pairings can easily push the bill higher.

Dining ExperienceEstimated Cost (Per Person)
Standard Fine Dining$50 – $100
High-End Steakhouses & Tasting Menus$100+

1. Cafe Central

cafe-central

Website: https://cafecentral.com/

Address: 109 N Oregon St

Contact: (915) 545-2233

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Friday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Saturday, 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM; Bar: Monday to Saturday, 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM

Stepping into Cafe Central feels like walking through local culinary history, thanks to a century-old legacy that originated south of the border.

They back up that history with exclusive dishes like premium caviar paired with scratch-made pasta, plus herb-brined Japanese heritage breed chicken for something a little unexpected.

When I attended a private corporate dinner here recently, their event specialists anticipated every need and kept the evening flowing smoothly.

The kitchen even prepared large-format meat assortments, which let our group sample several premium tenderloin cuts at once.

While they’re accommodating to spur-of-the-moment diners, planned tables for groups of six or more require a credit card on file, which adds some friction to booking.

They’re also completely closed on Sundays, limiting weekend dining options compared to other restaurants in El Paso.

Pros

  • Accommodates walk-in diners easily
  • Large-format meat tasting platters
  • Extensive fresh seafood selection
  • Herb-stuffed vegetarian appetizers

Cons

  • Completely closed on Sundays
  • Credit card is required for large bookings

Upscale Dining with Great Service and Food

Upscale dining with dress code. The service is great because of a fine staff. The wine selection is unending, most folks would not be disappointed in the least. We had the seafood platter and escargot for appetizers, followed by individual dishes: scallops, lobster ravioli and salmon and ended with the Chocolate cake for dessert. Your choice for food in El Paso, being in the desert and far as you get from the sea probably shouldn’t be ours but if you need a change from steak, this is a great choice. 😋

Great Food and Drink in Downtown El Paso

Cafe Central was a pleasant fine dining find in Downtown El Paso. Food and drink were great. I had the octopus, beat tartare, steak, and chocolate cake, and would recommend all. Good seasoning and flavors in each dish. Bread service was outstanding, and I filled up too much! Interior felt a bit dated. Worth a stop if you are looking for an elevated experience in the downtown area.

2. Weso Steakhouse

weso-steakhouse

Website: https://www.wesosteakhouse.com/

Address: 601 N Mesa St Ste 150

Contact: (915) 444-9085

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Friday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Saturday, 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM; Sunday, 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Diners looking for a more interactive evening will appreciate the specialized carts Weso uses to prepare signature drinks right at the table.

Their culinary approach centers heavily on bone-in specialization, which helps massive cuts of meat retain more juiciness and flavor during cooking.

I like that you can start with global fusion appetizers like coconut-infused tiger’s milk ceviche before moving on to a massive 48-ounce Tomahawk steak.

Guests avoiding meat still have strong alternatives, including slow-roasted whole cauliflower served with macha aioli.

They also host immersive themed events that pair dinner with live entertainment, so the experience feels more memorable than a standard steak night.

Unfortunately, their largest premium steak, the 40-ounce Porterhouse, is not reliably kept in stock, and the tableside drink experience can sometimes be unavailable because of staffing limits.

Pros

  • Dedicated vegetarian starter options
  • Massive 48-ounce Tomahawk steaks
  • Diverse oceanic and seafood dishes
  • Unique signature cocktail menu

Cons

  • Porterhouse steak frequently unavailable
  • Tableside mixology is sometimes restricted

Perfect Anniversary Dinner with Attentive Waiter

First time for us, we celebrated our anniversary dinner and absolutely loved everything about the restaurant! Our waiter Juan was very attentive to our table and needs and his recommendations on some ofnthe entrees as well as the dessert were on point! We will definitely be back to enjoy the hospitality of the fine dining establishment, thank you!

Excellent Fine Dining Ambiance and Service

Great service, food, ambience, and true feeling of FINE DINING. Servers (both men/women) had hair back, short nails, slacks, ties, long sleeve white shirt. The plates were heavy (good quality), music felt like you were at a lounge. Large monitor was showing BEAUTIFUL peaceful scenes of Mother Nature.

3. 1700° Steakhouse

1700-steakhouse

Website: https://www.hotelpdn.com/

Address: 10 Henry Trost Ct

Contact: (915) 534-3000

Hours: Daily, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

An open-flame culinary technique defines 1700° Steakhouse, giving the steaks here a deep charred crust and a richer flavor.

They also elevate the meal with interactive, ticketed events where the executive chef personally presents a multi-course menu.

I recently booked one of their sommelier-led spirit tastings in the Barrel Room, and the educational pairings changed the way I think about aged whiskey.

Plus, guests can extend the evening at the dedicated on-site cigar lounge located within the same hotel.

Trust me, after indulging in the meats and decadent black-tie gala experiences, you’ll want to consult a nutritionist in El Paso about adding their dishes to your diet.

Just be punctual for tasting events, since delayed arrivals are not seated. Exclusive holiday celebrations also require a substantial upfront commitment per guest.

Pros

  • Tailored vegan and gluten-free meals
  • Convenient on-site cigar lounge
  • Educational sommelier-led tastings
  • Flat-rate pricing for dietary menus

Cons

  • Strict punctuality required for tastings
  • High upfront cost for holiday events

Memorable 21st Birthday Meal, Ask for Emily

I rarely eat out at a fine dining restaurant, but I decided to treat myself to a special meal on my 21st birthday. I stumbled upon this restaurant on TikTok and decided to give it a try. Although I spent a pretty penny, it was absolute worth it. The server, Emily, provided exceptional service and made my dining experience truly memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant and strongly suggest that you ask for Emily as your server.

Awesome and Expensive Wagyu Strip Experience

Expensive restaurant but fancy, food was awesome. Got the 140 dollar A5 wagyu strip, definitely worth the try and the money. Also got their prime ribeye, which was amazing. Everything cooked perfectly l, chef does a palate cleanser in between courses. Very awesome experience for fine dining.

4. Entrecôte & Co.

entrecote-co

Website: https://entrecotebistro.com/

Address: 5825 North Mesa Street

Contact: (915) 300-0022 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday & Tuesday, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Wednesday & Thursday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday & Saturday, 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Diners craving European flair will appreciate Entrecôte & Co.’s authentic family roots, which come from prior success operating a French wine bistro in London.

The kitchen prepares dishes from scratch individually, so the made-to-order promise feels central to the experience rather than just a menu claim.

I like how their regional French classics pair with a curated global wine selection built for rich sauces and tender meats.

The restaurant also works for special occasions because it offers a fully equipped VIP corporate room for intimate gatherings. Guests attending private events even receive complimentary self-parking, which removes one small but real hassle from the evening.

Just be aware that the culinary team refuses to guarantee the quality of steaks cooked to higher temperatures, so well-done steak fans may feel boxed in.

Paying with a credit card also adds a processing fee, which can quietly raise the final bill.

Pros

  • Versatile private event hosting spaces
  • Classic regional French cuisine
  • Convenient physical gift card options
  • Free self-parking for private events

Cons

  • Quality not guaranteed for well-done steaks
  • Additional surcharge for credit card payments

Fantastic Anniversary Dinner with Great Server

Came here for our 1 year anniversary and it was a fantastic choice for a restaurant!! Our server was Sofia and she was extremely nice and gave great recommendations for food and drinks. The entree was fantastic and the desert was to die for. Me and my wife will definitely be coming here more often for when we are wanting a fine dining experience.

5. Anson 11

anson-11

Website: https://anson11.com/

Address: 303 North Oregon Street

Contact: (915) 504-6400

Hours: Bistro: Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Friday & Saturday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Upstairs: Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday & Saturday, 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Anson 11 stands out because it gives diners two moods in one building: a relaxed neighborhood pub downstairs and a more polished fine dining space upstairs.

They also guide guests to a designated parking garage nearby, which makes downtown navigation a little easier before dinner.

I found their event setup especially practical, since the dedicated team can coordinate private functions for both small gatherings and larger banquets.

The ground-level bistro also works for midday business lunches and late-night drinks, so the restaurant feels useful beyond formal dinners.

Plus, when making online inquiries or reservations, customers can trust their personal data is protected by industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.

The catch is scheduling. Formal daytime gatherings early in the week aren’t an option because the fine dining area opens only in the evening from Monday through Thursday. The premium upstairs event spaces are also unavailable on Sundays.

Pros

  • Specialized team for private events
  • Flexible all-day bistro dining menu
  • Secure personal data protection
  • Highly customizable banquet rooms

Cons

  • Premium dining spaces closed on Sundays
  • Fine dining is closed during daytime hours

Total Package: Ambiance, Service, and Quality

What a find! We have been to every fine dining restaurant in downtown El Paso, and last weekend, we finally checked off Anson 11. Wow. Just, wow. I was blown away by the ambiance, service, and the taste/quality of the food. This place is the total package. From the glass elevator ride up to the second floor, to the floor-to-ceiling windowed overview of San Jacinto Plaza, the upstairs of Anson 11 is an experience that is unrivaled anywhere else in El Paso.

Enjoyable But Expensive 5 Course Meal

I finally had the opportunity to try Anson Eleven, I made reservations for upstairs in the fine dining floor. We went a few days before Valentines day, to beat the rush. We both tried the 5 course meal ($75.00 each), and had a very enjoyable time. Each course was explained by an enthusiastic server, and beautifully presented. It was a great experience, however to me it was just too expensive for what you get to try again. Next time I’ll order something regular on the menu. We will be back.
