Address: 8817 Dyer

Hours: 24 Hours

Navigating a loss requires a team that understands specific cultural traditions and honors them completely.

Funeraria del Angel Restlawn provides robust resources because it is backed by the expansive Dignity Memorial network. They offer a 100% Service Guarantee, along with specialized cultural care, such as bilingual support and transfers to countries of origin.

Another plus is that families can easily coordinate complex setups, such as overnight visits or custom tribute videos.

However, because they’re part of a massive national corporate network, the highly structured, standardized processes may feel less intimate than those of a smaller, independent family operation.

You might also find that the paperwork and structural flow feel a bit rigid when you are seeking a deeply personalized, neighborhood touch.

Despite this corporate structure, their ability to handle international logistics provides immense reassurance to families with deep roots across borders.

Pros

  • Home delivery of ashes
  • Custom remembrance jewelry available
  • Overnight visitations accommodated
  • Free online memorial platform

Cons

  • Standardized processes

Rebecca and her team were wonderful and made this difficult time easier by helping us with the service and cremation of our loved one. They were amazing and their kindness, compassion, and atmosphere really was a comfort. Thank you all

Very kind and helpful

The funeral home is beautiful. The director and other employees are very kind and helpful. They are always ready and willing to answer further questions. It is good to know one can prepay for personal direct cremation, and it doesn’t matter where in the country one dies.

Finding a non-traditional way to celebrate a life can bring a deep sense of healing to grieving family members.

For an option that steps away from conventional clergy, Sunset Funeral Homes features trained life celebrants who specialize in leading customized, healing services for families who prefer a more personalized approach.

When I spoke with a local family who used this provider, they mentioned how comforted they felt by this tailored approach to honoring their loved one.

On the other hand, although the business answers calls 24/7, its actual business office hours are only until 4:00 PM, six days a week. This might make coordination difficult should you need their services at odd hours or on a Sunday.

Pros

  • Trained life celebrants available
  • Wide array of cremation choices
  • Comprehensive veteran service support
  • Live streaming options integrated

Cons

  • Actual office hours are until 4:00 PM only
  • Closed on Sundays

Attentive to every need and request

Sunset and the friendly knowledgeable people there were amazing from the first meeting until the end. My father passed in the middle of the pandemic and the Sunset team did everything that we asked for and so much more. The contract, funeral arrangements, and cremation were taken care of very quickly compared to other places that we visited. The price was also very reasonable. Even during these most difficult times they remained attentive to every need and request of the family. Never rude or too busy to talk to us. Thank you again Sunset Team

Very helpful

Was quite surprised at how fast the cremation process took after death certificate signed. Less than a week. Another family member’s creamation was over a month from another funeral home. The staff was very helpful in walking me through the process for this prepaid service. Loved that they worked with me to delay the memorial by a year because of the COVID. Very helpful in getting all the death certificates I needed. Very helpful with getting the notice posted in tbe paper. Prices were reasonable.

3. Mt Carmel Funeral Home

Website: http://mtcarmelfuneralhomes.com/

Address: 1755 Zaragoza

Contact: 915.857.3535

Hours: 24 Hours

Clear communication is essential when coordinating end-of-life arrangements across a diverse community.

Led by President Jaime A. Martinez, Mt Carmel Funeral Home is dedicated to providing high-quality bilingual English and Spanish cremation and funeral services at highly accessible prices.

When I called their office to clarify some details, the coordinator was incredibly patient and attentive, showing real dedication to local families.

But you should know that the company manages operations across widely separated Texas cities, such as El Paso and Irving.

This geographic separation means families must double-check they are coordinating with the correct regional branch to avoid logistical mix-ups during an already stressful time.

Keeping an eye on those specific details ensures their helpful online tools and affordable options can work smoothly for your family.

Pros

  • High-quality bilingual support
  • Accessible package pricing options
  • Direct community fundraiser links
  • Comprehensive online obituary portal

Cons

  • Operations split across distant cities

They made the entire process much easier for my family

The people at Carmel Funeral Home were outstanding in helping us plan my father’s services. During such a difficult time, they were compassionate, professional, and attentive to every detail. They made the entire process much easier for my family and treated us with genuine care and respect. I’m truly grateful for their support and highly recommend them to anyone in need of funeral services.

Went above and beyond

I want everyone to know how wonderful Mt. Carmel Funeral Home has treated me these past two days. Mr. Martinez and his lovely wife went above and beyond what most people would do. They did in 2 hours what Del Angel Evergreen East couldn’t do in 5 weeks. The care, concern, and compassion has gone far beyond my expectations. Absolutely wonderful people to deal with. I highly recommend them. They will be handling our funerals when the time comes. Blessing to all at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home.

4. San Jose Funeral Home

Website: http://www.sanjosefuneralhome.com/

Address: 601 S. Virginia Street

Contact: (915) 532-1856

Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Operated continuously by the Vargas Family since 1956, San Jose Funeral Home focuses on providing flexible payment terms for the local community to help ease that burden.

Their deep generational roots mean they truly understand the neighborhood’s economic realities. I appreciate how they alleviate the financial pressure of unexpected arrangements. With this, families can focus more on their emotional well-being.

However, a potential drawback is that their services heavily emphasize support for traditional faith-based congregations, which might not be the best fit for secular families seeking non-religious ceremonies.

If you’re planning a completely secular memorial, their traditional approach could feel somewhat misaligned with your wishes.

Even so, their decades of local history and accommodating financial options provide an incredibly strong foundation of reliability for traditional households.

Pros

  • Over 60 years of local experience
  • Flexible community payment terms
  • Three distinct regional branches
  • Wide selection of custom urns

Cons

  • Heavy traditional faith-based emphasis
  • Less tailored for secular ceremonies

Highly recommend

Many thanks to wonderful Angie Torres! She helped me so much with all the paperwork and documents and answered the many questions I had with patience and professionalism. Also the price for the direct cremation was very reasonable.

I would highly recommend San Jose funeral home.

5. Perches Funeral Home

perches-funeral-home-logo

Website: https://www.perchesfuneralhomes.com/

Address: 2280 Joe Battle Blvd.

Contact: (915) 849-8185

Hours: 24 Hours

Handling a loss often involves coordinating across geographical boundaries, which can make a painful time feel even more intricate.

Leveraging its border-city expertise, Perches Funeral Home offers highly specialized international ship-out services and complex repatriation logistics for Mexico.

This tailored capability ensures that families can bring their loved ones home without hitting logistical roadblocks.

But you should note that they strongly encourage or require embalming services if the family chooses to hold a public, open-casket viewing prior to the actual cremation taking place.

If your family prefers to bypass chemical preservation entirely, this structural policy might be a real issue.

Pros

  • Specialized international repatriation logistics
  • Six separate neighborhood facilities
  • Integrated online floral delivery
  • Open-casket viewings after organ donation

Cons

  • Strict embalming requirements for public viewings

Put our hearts at ease

Losing my mother was the hardest day of my life. She was Native American and had several ceremonies and traditions that needed to be honored prior to her cremation. Perches was so amazing and accommodating to our family’s requests. They even sent a Native, spiritual man to our home to transport her body. He prayed over her and honored our family with a small ceremony from his Navajo culture. As hard of a day as it was, Perches put our hearts at ease. Thank you!!
