If you’re exploring the city’s social hubs, finding the perfect bar in El Paso makes all the difference for a fun night out with your favorite crowd. The local scene has everything from quiet cocktail lounges to energetic spots with live music.

I spent some time checking out the top hangouts around town so you can easily plan your next evening. Here are incredible choices that stand out for their amazing drinks and welcoming atmosphere.

How much does a bar visit cost in El Paso?

Grabbing a drink around town is quite affordable, with typical options ranging from a few dollars for a cold draft beer to a bit more for premium specialty lounge cocktails.

Craft or imported beer$6 – $8
Standard mixed drink$6 – $9
Specialty lounge cocktail$10 – $14

Contact: (915)-307-8704

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, Friday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM

Finding a venue that serves exceptional morning espresso and transforms into a refined evening lounge is a total treat for local night owls. Proof & Press masterfully combines traditional bartending and classic cocktails with high-quality craft coffee roasting to create an inviting social hub.

You can easily order modern American cuisine online if you want a savory meal alongside your beverage.

When I checked it out last Friday, the smooth jazz tunes created an incredible background for chatting over an expertly balanced old fashioned. This spot serves as a fantastic alternative to the standard best restaurants in El Paso if you prefer a drink-focused gathering with friends.

The only real bummer is that they close entirely on Sundays, so you have to plan your weekend visits carefully.

Pros

  • Dual-concept coffee and cocktail space
  • Online food ordering options
  • Private event venue space
  • Weekly live jazz and trivia

Cons

  • Closed entirely on Sundays

12/10 would recommend

Been meaning to write this for a while. Ive had drinks here 3 separate times, they’ve been delicious each time. Ive tried new drinks each time ive come, and I havent been disappointed. I’ve been served by both Adriana and Brianna, if theyre behind the bar I assure you that youre in good hands. 12/10 would recommend coming in for a drink

However, the venue doesn’t offer any daytime or lunch operating hours, so you will have to wait until evening to enjoy their unique menu options.

Pros

  • Island-inspired kitchen bites
  • Local delivery and pickup services

Cons

  • No daytime or lunch hours

Exceeded my expectations

Overall the tiki room exceeded my expectations. The drinks are classic tiki done very well with top notch bartenders and a friendly staff. As a huge tiki head I’ve visited dozens of tiki bars across the US and the vibe here is as good as any, and will transport you to a new place. The food is ridiculously good – I highly recommend the ribs.

This place honestly blew our minds

My boyfriend and I love cocktail bars. Not every bar in El Paso has mastered the art of cocktails, but this place honestly blew our minds. From the ambiance to the awesome service, as well as the great tasting cocktails. It feels as if you’re on vacation when you go to this place. And during covid is when I needed this place the most. Props to the owner for all the creativity and for choosing a talented service team.

Immersing yourself in the local creative community becomes entirely effortless at this independent downtown dive. MONA Bar of Modern Art successfully combines cheap drinks with El Paso’s creative spirit, showcasing glowing spray-painted art and non-stop live entertainment.

A fully equipped stage frequently welcomes local music performers and enthusiastic crowds for weekly open mic events.

A close friend of mine goes to their recurring karaoke nights all the time and always raves about the inclusive, high-energy environment. The unpretentious, alternative rock atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome from the moment they step through the front door.

On the downside, parking is strictly restricted to paid street spots and a few nearby garages, which can be quite frustrating on busy weekend nights.

Pros

  • Immersive glowing modern art interior
  • Stage for live music and open mics
  • Recurring high-energy karaoke nights
  • Welcoming alternative rock atmosphere

Cons

  • Limited paid parking options

Unique bar with a great environment

I’ve always loved Mona’s, I first went when they first opened up but the vibe has always been great. It’s a unique bar with a great environment and very cool people. The specials are great too! Highly recommend 😄 …

Best hole-in-the-wall dive bar

Best hole in the wall dive bar. Live music is great and the prices for their 🍸 was beyond amazing. A Gin and Tonic for less than $9 is unheard of. A dark atmosphere surrounded by art, simply unmatched. Wish I would of spent more time there before moving.

Guests can always look forward to an active weekly schedule packed with interactive trivia and local music bands. They also offer long daily happy hours with generous drink discounts to keep your tab reasonable.

  • Active weekly entertainment schedule
  • Long afternoon happy hours daily

Cons

  • Very loud environment
  • Can get overly crowded

Great food, great service

One of the coolest and most unique dive bars I’ve been too. They have some games, darts, and a pool table but the table is in pretty rough shape. The back area has a stage and little Koi point that runs through the whole patio. The taco truck has great food and the bar has great service.

Friendly staff, fast service

Very cool bar with mostly outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. They have water misters which help a lot when it is hot outside. And if you go during the week the drinks are super cheap.

The reliable entertainment lineup highlights fantastic local acts that keep patrons coming back every single week.

Patrons can easily take advantage of a regular daily happy hour from late afternoon until early evening. Plus, the venue shares a convenient space with Lucy’s Restaurant for quick access to delicious food between drinks.

However, the property maintains a highly traditional dive bar setting without any modern cocktail lounge amenities, so don’t expect fancy crystal glassware.

  • Weekly cash-prize pool tournaments
  • Daily afternoon happy hours
  • Shared space with a restaurant

Cons

  • Lacks modern lounge amenities
  • Interior can feel dated to some

Good bar vibe

Always love coming here, good people and a good bar vibe. Has a real TX feel to it. Also the promotions are great. Sometimes it gets busy, but that is nothing to take out on the workers. Great place!

An old El Paso neighborhood bar with local bands every Friday and Kareoke every Saturday. Fun place for El Paso High or Coronado Reunions! Lucy’s bar has a flavorful menu to choose from varied Mexican dishes.
