The Top 5 Vets in El Paso to Keep Your Fur Babies Healthy and Happy

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

  • Facilities - Are their facilities clean and well-maintained? Are the animals comfortable should they require an extended stay?

  • Veterinary Services
    • Expertise - Is the team adept at diagnosing and treating animals? Are they also a reliable choice for routine checkups?
    • Variety - Are they well-equipped to treat various illnesses in-house? Do they demonstrate the right expertise for different pets and breeds?
  • Customer Service - Are they responsive when it comes to inquiries? Is the team polite and friendly towards their clients, furry and otherwise?
  • Accessibility - Is it easy to locate the clinic for treatment and checkups? Are they open at convenient times throughout the week?

One thing you have to know about my two chihuahuas is that they never settle down. Morning to night, I’m usually writing with the sound of barking in my ear, and their enthusiasm is something no dog trainer in El Paso has ever solved.

This is all to say that when one of them is feeling unwell, I notice it right away. Just like us, our pets can be susceptible to illness and wounds, especially ones that make a habit of rolling through every lawn like mine!

With that in mind, getting yourself a trusted vet in El Paso can go a long way with keeping your pets safe and up to date on their needed shots. After a round trip with my kids and pets, we’ve cobbled together some favorites for new and old pet owners alike.

How much does it cost to go to a vet in El Paso?

Going to a vet in El Paso can cost you anywhere from $25 to $500 per visit, depending on any vaccinations taken, tests needed to determine your pet’s condition, and the consultation times.

There’s nothing you could want more at a vet than tender loving care for your pets, and according to locals, that’s what you get at the TLC Animal Hospital! With that kind of recommendation, we couldn’t resist a visit of our own.

On our visit, we got to chat with a few regulars at the clinic and got to hear some good things. To our surprise, one main highlight from customers was the consultations, which were reportedly pretty detailed and thorough!

Customers mentioned these consultations helping them get a better idea of their pets’ condition, and the team offered various treatment options as well. Owners who aren’t sure which to pursue mentioned the team giving recommendations to help guide them.

On that note, the team’s communication also garnered praise! Those who had their pets seen at the clinic mentioned the team following up after treatment to check in on their recovery process, helping them address any issues after.

That being said, we did notice a long line at the clinic on our visit. We’d defintiely recommend booking ahead of time and arriving early to the clinic to help ease this wait.

Pros

  • Reliable recommendations for treatment options
  • Proactive follow-up communication
  • Thorough consultations and check-ups

Cons

  • Long waiting time to get service

The vets and staff are 1st class

“I was nervous about my cat getting neutered, but he was in good hands. The staff is friendly and take good care of their patients. His healing process has been great. He was acting himself when we got home after his surgery.”

Taking your pet to the vet can always be a stressful experience, not to mention a lengthy one! With this in mind, we asked locals for their recommended vets to go through for quick services, and the Montana Animal Clinic was quite the common name.

The first thing regulars let us know of was the booking and scheduling process. Customers reported their schedule being pretty open, allowing them to book appointments at their desired dates and at convenient times.

Speaking of timeliness, this also extended to their treatments and services. The team was reportedly pretty quick and efficient during these treatments, addressing any issues while keeping their pets calm throughout the process.

Finally, these services also came at surprisingly reasonable prices, much to our relief! Those looking to get their pets regularly checked on or don’t have a budget yet can try dropping by without breaking the bank first.

However, regulars also advised us that it could be pretty difficult to consult with specific veterinarians. If you have a preferred one who knows how to care for your pet, we’d advise consulting with them on their schedule to keep in mind.

Pros

  • Quick and timely results
  • Reasonable cost for services
  • Easy booking and scheduling process

Cons

  • Difficulty consulting with specific veterinarians

Did a thorough exam including blood work and X-Rays

“The vet did a thorough exam including blood work and X-Rays and we got our results within an hour. Turns out he was anemic and due to an autoimmune disorder and I’m so glad they caught it because it could have been way worse.”

– Mr. Alfonso Frias, Google Review

Everyone treats our pet and us with kindness

“Great place for your pet care. Everyone treats our pet and us with kindness and refers to our pet as our baby. Dr. Bailey makes the visit extra special as she talks to our pet, Monet, with kindness and gentleness.”

Any pet owner would know the early struggles of a new pet, especially when getting them their shots for the first time. Luckily, more than a few owners were happy to point us to the East El Paso Animal Hospital for those with newly adopted buddies.

We were immediately pleased to walk into a clean clinic space on our visit. The waiting areas were pretty comfortable, with ample space for your pets to roam and settle somewhat to shake off the nerves.

This gave us some time to chat with a few regulars, and we got to ask them about what they liked about the service. Many were happy to praise the team’s approach to new pets, providing everything from shots to pet grooming.

Regulars also praised the team’s timeliness and scheduling. According to regulars, the team had a pretty open schedule that made finding a convenient date easy, along with the availability of same day appointments for quicker treatments.

However, we would advise keeping a budget in mind and going for a consultation if you can. We noted their price point being pretty high, even compared to other vets in El Paso.

Pros

  • Comfortable and well-maintained clinic space
  • Same day appointments available
  • Reliable approach to new pets

Cons

  • High costs for services

Excellent service from front desk

“First time here with my Dog Aries. I am impressed! Excellent service from front desk, assistant, and Dr. Even had some conversation with customers and everyone had nothing but good things to say.”

– Mr. Wayne Williams, Google Review

My baby feels at home here

“My baby feels at home here. She gets super excited when it times to especially boarding. If I take her there for a check up or shots she whines because she wants to visit the girls in the kennel. The grooming is also the best.”

Just like us, our pets can get afflicted at just about any time, and sometimes we don’t have the time or budget ready on hand when it comes. In these cases, locals put the aptly named El Paso Animal Urgent Care West on our radar, and for good reason!

Timeliness was the main highlight customers praised the team for. The team was notably pretty efficient when it came to emergency cases, helping get pets in on short notice and without much delay.

Adding to that was the speed of their treatments. Customers mentioned the team working quickly without sacrificing the attention to detail needed for each treatment, helping pets get on the recovery process faster.

Finally, the team also reportedly offered ample aftercare advice for pets after treatment. We found this pretty handy for owners needing guidance on how to keep their pets healthy and recovering smoothly after getting injured or sick.

However, if you’re planning on visiting their clinic, we’d recommend calling ahead for directions. We found their clinic a bit difficult to find and had some trouble parking at the site as well.

Pros

  • Reliable emergency and urgent services
  • Quick and timely treatments
  • Good aftercare advice for pets

Cons

  • Difficult location

They did an exceptional job taking care of her

One hard part of looking into vets is that some pet conditions  require an extended stay. In these cases, customers swear by the Coronado Animal Clinic as a reliable spot to get your pets both looked at and boarded!

Right off the bat, we found the team’s responses pretty refreshing when we reached out. The team got back to our inquiries with various details on their services, such as the steps to their booking and even their service coverage.

This thoroughness also extended to the check-ups at the clinic, as some pet owners let us know. The diagnoses offered at the clinic were reportedly thorough, letting customers gain a better understanding of their pet’s health and any recommended treatments.

We also got to chat with a few regulars who experienced leaving their pets at the clinic! These owners especially appreciated the pick up and drop off, with the team helping even the most nervous pets settle in without much fuss.

That being said, one thing customers did mention wanting improvement on was the scheduling. A few reported cases where the team’s schedule could be pretty narrow, so it can be hard to find a convenient time to book an appointment.

Pros

  • Professional and informative team
  • Reliable pick up and drop off
  • In-depth diagnosis

Cons

  • Difficulty scheduling appointments

Showed extreme care for my pet

“The vet assistant who did my pet’s intake showed extreme care for my pet. It was my first time taking my dog to a vet, plus it was a drop off for a surgery. And they made the drop off smooth and easy on both me and my dog.”

– Ms. Lydia Sloan, Google Review

They have always taken as much time

“The care my pets have received has always been excellent. Very important to me, is they have always taken as much time as needed to make sure I understand everything about my pets diagnosis, treatment and care.”

– Mr. Marty Smith, Google Review
