We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Evidence-Based Trauma Care: We checked if they use science-backed methods, like EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). This ensures safe interventions for every client.

Specialized Population Experience: We checked whether clinicians have relevant experience with military service, emergency responders, children, or families. This background can accommodate more clients.

Billing and Fee Transparency: We assessed how straightforward each office is regarding session rates, sliding-scale options, and insurance. Clear pricing keeps you from facing surprising medical bills during recovery.

Accessibility and Format: We reviewed options for in-person visits, secure virtual sessions, and flexible scheduling. Being able to book evening hours or connect from home makes staying consistent with therapy much easier.

It can feel heavy and isolating when you have unresolved pain or grief. Life can be tough, and sometimes, it’s like a never-ending uphill battle.

Working through my trauma and PTSD truly changed my life

I’m so thankful for the help I got here. I was struggling so much. Life was really hard. Honestly didn’t believe therapy could help, but I had nothing left to lose. Everything helped way more than I expected. Working through my trauma and PTSD truly changed my life.

Speaking to a non biased “friend” with the education and experience to really help

… She recommended the two ladies I spoke with after sharing my needs. I like that I don’t have to take off work as they are open late and on weekends. If you are new to seeking therapy I feel this is a good starting place to look as it didn’t really feel like therapy or an initial assessment, but rather speaking to a non biased “friend” with the education and experience to really help. Also, they do virtual appointments which is nice as I am traveling a lot right now.

Bibi T. has continued to exercise her great gift of speaking to my inner being

Bibi T. has continued to exercise her great gift of speaking to my inner being. From he beginning of my journey to the very last session, I have been able to embrace the grace that is offered in spiritual healing coupled with a listening ear, understanding and heart-filled guidance that together allowed me to refresh, center, and forgive others and even myself. Definitely recommend Bibi for others who may need counseling.

This is the best I’ve felt in years with my history of anxiety, major depression and PTSD

I have been with my therapist since 2023, and she has not only helped me progress and acknowledge and see my progress. This is the best I’ve felt in years with my history of anxiety, major depression and PTSD. My therapist is kind and gentle and helps me see outwardly perspectives which helps me process my emotions and triggers. I cannot say enough how grateful I am to be a patient with ABTS.

Prescribe the proper medication to treat my anxiety related to a traumatic event

The staff at ABTS is very friendly and efficient. James, nurse to pyschiatrist Dr. Roger Diaz, is very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and put my mind at ease. Dr. Diaz was also very knowledgeable and sympathetic to my case. He listened attentively and was able to prescribe the proper medication to treat my anxiety related to a traumatic event. Both made me feel like I was family. I would recommend this team to all of my family and friends 🧡

Local clients can easily pick between two offices in the Eastside or Westside. For those who live farther away, there’s convenient telehealth.

One detail to consider is that the clinical roster includes associate therapists and interns, so you must confirm your practitioner’s license level if you want a seasoned clinician.

  • Founder is an EMDR International Association-approved trainer
  • Advanced QEEG neurofeedback and brain-based therapies
  • Uses DBR for trauma
  • Two El Paso offices plus telehealth

Cons

She is simply the best

I have been working with Kathy Giovas for several months now, in trauma therapy and she is simply the best. I have learned so much about myself and my past, and I have worked through so many things, I am very grateful for her experience and guidance. As a woman and her mid 50s who’s gone through so much, I can’t believe how much I’m learning about mind, emotions , and body. I still have a road in front of me, but with much more hope than I had before. Thank you Kathy.

Catered towards my PTSD and my well being

To whom it may concern,

Wellmind is a big part of my day. I look forward to my sessions that is catered towards my PTSD and my well being. I’ve been to many clinics for treatment, and I left disappointed. From the greeting of the receptionist to my Therapist. I feel like family, and that they care about my well being. I really appreciate the staff at the Westside clinic and I pray to have many more sessions in the future!

The place itself is very welcoming

the place itself is very welcoming, the receptionist offers me water or candy and they have music playing in the waiting room which makes it a calm environment. i’ve been seeing my therapist here for over a year now and the reminder system/therapy portal is very efficient.
