Over the years, math homework hasn’t gotten easier, just harder. One minute, parents are talking to their kid about variables. Next, they’re lost staring at Common Core methods they’ve never seen before.
For most students and families, the next logical step is finding extra support. But that’s easier said than done. With so many tutors claiming to be the best, it’s hard to know who’ll actually help students understand the concept and not just memorize problems.
But don’t worry, we did the hard work for you. We researched and identified the best math tutors El Paso families and learners trust.
Whether you’re looking for a high school math tutor in El Paso or a calculus tutor for college-level work, our list can help you find the right support!
How much does math tutoring cost in El Paso?

1. Mathmobile Tutorials LLC

Address: 5360 N Mesa St #5e, El Paso, TX 79912, United States
Contact Details: +1 915-585-6284
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 9 AM to 6 PM
We found Mathmobile Tutorials LLC to be one of the best tutors in El Paso for those preparing for major exams.
The center covers all K-12 subjects and goes beyond classwork to prepare students for exams such as STAAR, SAT, ACT, and ASVAB. A few students said their ACT math scores jumped after working with Mathmobile.
They start with an assessment to map out exactly what needs work. Then, they build a plan focused on strengthening fundamentals.
We love how flexible they are too. They offer 1-on-1 online learning, in-home sessions, and an in-office subscription system. We think their subscription model is a smart move because it removes the guesswork of paying for sessions.
They also work with undergraduate college students. A college freshman told us he was struggling with calculus until he started working with Mathmobile. He said his tutor was great at connecting college-level concepts to his daily life.
The catch? Because they offer so many subjects and test-prep options, their availability for math-only sessions may be limited.
We heard from a few families that they had to wait a week or two to get started with a dedicated math tutor while preparing for STAAR.
Mathmobile has been a great educational companion
“Mathmobile has been a great educational companion for our family for the past 18 months or so. They have competent tutors for most subjects. The front desk staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and they listen well to accommodate your family’s educational needs and time schedules. Tutors can meet you at Mathmobile which is located on Mesa or they can go to your house which is super helpful for busy families. We’ve had a highly qualified bilingual tutor come to our home for our children’s Math and Spanish classes. She’s awesome!”

We moved to Texas from Quebec last summer and my son needed an entire algebra course. Math mobile was responsive, timely and thoughtful in matching my son with the right tutor to meet with him daily and administer the accredited course. Because of the relationship, we continued with the tutor once the school year began for geometry. The staff have been professional, flexible and accommodating as schedule adjustments needed to be made from time to time. My biggest concern was doing this virtually, however my son has done well.

We’ve had a wonderful experience
“We’ve had a wonderful experience with Tutor Doctor. My two sons each have quite different learning styles and both Raquel, the director, and Ashley, the teacher, have done tremendous work in developing specialized approaches that are perfect for each boy. Ashley is exceptionally supportive and validating, as well as strategic and thoughtful, in adapting lesson plans and activities to keep them excited, fully engaged, and constantly learning and growing. They are thriving like never before, and are excited to see her every day and are making rapid progress in personal confidence, academic attainment, and emotional awareness. Overall, they are responding like flowers to sunshine and it is so satisfying and inspiring to see as a parent! I’m really grateful for the great work that the whole team at Tutor Doctor has done for us!”

2. Infinitely Many Solutions: Private Math Tutor

Contact Details: +1 915-229-6437
Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday, Saturday & Sunday- 9 AM to 8 PM
We really love how Infinitely Math Solutions makes quality education accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget. Stephanie, the tutor behind this center, offers free math tutoring every Monday at 7:30 MST via Zoom.
She specializes in private high school math tutoring but also supports middle school, college, and graduate students. Even adult learners can get help with learning math.
We also love that she works with students of all skill levels. Even students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, hearing, or vision impairments can get help without much problem.
An adult learner with autism we spoke to said Stephanie not only taught them the material but also helped them build the confidence to tackle advanced courses.
Sessions are 60 minutes long, and she responds quickly to messages, which is a huge plus for anyone who has last-minute questions before tests.
The only drawback is that since it’s a one-person operation, availability is limited. We heard from a few families that they had to schedule sessions a month in advance to get their preferred times.
Easy to work with and responds quickly
“Stephanie has been tutoring my daughter for several months now. We wanted one-on-one math tutoring in a comfortable environment that would prepare our daughter for the more difficult math curriculum to come. Stephanie is easy to work with and responds quickly to your communication requests and also to address the individual needs of, not only your student, but the needs of your family as well. Her instruction is clear and concise and she is respectful of the needs of students that have learning challenges/ differences. She’s not only a great tutor, but a great person. I feel incredibly comfortable with her in my home and trust her implicitly with my child. She is very good at what she does and I would highly recommend her services.”

3. Mathnasium

Address: 7250 N Mesa St # B, El Paso, TX 79912, United States
Contact Details: +1 915-587-6284
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 2 AM to 6 PM
Mathnasium was one of the most recommended math tutoring centers in El Paso when we asked local parents. It’s not surprising considering how well they work with everyone, from early childhood learners to high schoolers.
When we looked into the center, we got a sense that it’s built to make students understand numbers, not just crunch them.
We love that they start with a free assessment, with both verbal and written parts to pinpoint strengths and gaps. Then they create a customized learning plan for each child and teach for comprehension rather than memorization.
Instead of just showing a student how to solve an equation, instructors explain the logic behind it. When students encounter a similar problem later, they can resolve it on their own.
One parent we spoke to said that after a few sessions, their child went from leaving problems blank on her math homework to understanding the problems and explaining how she got her answers.
We also appreciate Mathnasium’s focus on long-term success. They help prepare students for placement tests and STEM careers, not just next week’s quiz.
That said, we heard a few parents mention scheduling can be tight during peak times, such as midterms or finals.
Mathnasium provides my son with a consistent course
“Mathnasium has rescued my family from struggling and fighting about math homework. Mathnasium provides my son with a consistent course of lessons based on a customized learning plan. The lessons provide the needed repetition and challenges to reinforce learning, which helps him apply these skills in higher level math applications.
To my son, I compare Mathnasium to his swim team coach. They both provide lessons on the technique with a regimen of practice, followed by challenges that test his skills. Just like in the movie “Man on Fire”, I’m always asking my son, “Are you trained or untrained?”

I recommend Mathnasium 100%
“I recommend Mathnasium 100%. I wanted basic math tutoring while preparing for my Texas Teacher Certification Core Test and I got the exact right help I needed. My teacher Matthew was so patient and knowledgeable. I really like the way Mr. Martinez customized my plan. Excellent! I also enjoyed being taught by Stephen. Thank you all so much.”

Sylvan Learning tutors focus on kids who are struggling and challenge advanced learners. We love that they adapt lessons to each child’s pace so students don’t get bored or frustrated.
They cover everything from addition and subtraction to pre-calculus, and are well-versed in Common Core standards. We also appreciate that they share free learning resources like worksheets and activities.
They offer both in-person and online math tutoring, so students can switch between options if their schedule gets crazy.
We also think it’s great that their tutors are trained to support students with dyslexia and other learning differences.
A parent we spoke to told us her son with dyslexia finally started keeping up in algebra because tutors used visual tools tailored to how he learns best.
The only real downside we found is that, while their program is personalized, it can feel somewhat structured for some students who need more creative approaches to learning.
A couple of families mentioned their children wished there were more hands-on projects or real-world examples tied to what they were studying.
This program was the best thing for my daughter
“I am very pleased with the program, my daughter has shown so much progress. She started in the summer before interning 3rd grade. Her teacher has seen how much she has progress in her reading and math. She is in 4th grade and is know reading at a 6th grade level. This program was the best thing for my daughter. Thank you Sylvan for everything you have done for my daughter.”

They always make you feel like family
“My son and I love the staff at sylvan, everyone is really helpful and caring. My son has improved his grades since day 1, and was even able to accomplish a 100% on his reading 9wks test… his old scores were in the 50’s. They always make you feel like family, my son has AdHD and is autistic so even if he has tantrums or any issues they work really well with him.”

5. Tutor Doctor West El Paso

Contact Details: +1 915-800-7787
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 9 AM to 7 PM
- Saturday – 9 AM to 3 PM
Tutor Doctor West El Paso is a top choice for one-on-one math tutoring in El Paso. Lessons here are highly tailored to every type of learner, and students can get their lessons at home or online.
We love that their home math tutor option includes tools to help students build better study habits and get organized, not just learn math.
One parent told us her daughter used to forget due dates, but her tutor helped her set up a homework system. Now, doing math homework has become second nature, and her grades have shot up.
We appreciate that they cover everything from elementary math up to advanced college courses. Their list of subjects is impressive, including pre-calculus and calculus tutoring.
Their team is also comfortable with Common Core, high school math curricula, and even AP courses.
A college student who struggled with statistics valued his tutor’s ability to explain concepts in a way his professor couldn’t.
The con? Because they match each student with a tutor who’s a good fit, the process can take a bit longer than with other services. A few students mentioned it took 5-7 days to get paired with their tutor.
They make learning a fun and informative experience.
“Let me begin with saying that the tutor doctor has great tutor’s that really hear our kids concerns, in the subjects they struggle with . They are not only helpful they have sincere concerns on helping our kids view the subject like the tutors in a fun way! They make learning a fun and informative experience. Haydee Holguin helped my son Andres in Physics, she made him see physics like she sees it too.”
