We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Happy Hour Deals & Specials: We carefully evaluated the actual value and markdown percentages for all available food and drink promotions. This ensures you get a genuinely good deal rather than just a small discount on basic menu items.

  • Atmosphere & Entertainment: Our team looked at the general energy, music choices, and seating arrangements of each establishment. A great spot needs to offer a comfortable space where conversations can flow naturally.

  • Drink & Food Selection: We analyzed the overall variety of craft beverages, custom cocktails, and shared appetizers on the menu. Having a great range of choices helps keep every group outing interesting and satisfying.

  • Location & Accessibility: We checked out how easy it is to find each venue, including parking options and total driving convenience. This helps you transition smoothly from work straight into relaxation mode.

  • Reputation & Customer Feedback: We examined what regular local patrons consistently say about the service's speed and friendliness. Gathering this widespread community consensus ensures that our final choices are highly dependable options.

Finding the absolute coolest spot to unwind after a long day at the office can sometimes feel like a chore. It’s frustrating, right?

1. Kona Grill – El Paso

kona-grill-el-paso

HAPPY HOUR: Monday: ALL DAY, Tuesday to Friday: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, EVERY NIGHT: 9:00 PM to Close

Craving some freshly rolled sushi alongside your afternoon drinks? Kona Grill spot stands out for its scratch-kitchen setup, where expert chefs grill steaks to order and roll fresh sushi right in front of your eyes.

When I stopped by last month with a few friends, the energetic vibe instantly helped us shake off a stressful work week.

I love how the multi-tiered social hour menu runs twice a day, making planning an outing incredibly flexible. You can even grab late-night specials starting at 9 PM if you prefer an evening gathering.

Just keep in mind that navigating the massive mall parking structure takes some serious patience before you get to enjoy the best happy hour El Paso specials. It remains a top choice for upscale bites at a major discount, though.

Pros

  • Multi-tiered afternoon and late specials
  • Diverse options running every single day
  • Customizable private dining spaces
  • Fresh fish flown from the Pacific

Cons

  • Massive mall parking structure navigation

Everything was great

Nice atmosphere and excellent service. We ordered apps of the happy hour menu and wangyu fried rice from the full menu. Would prefer different lettuce for the wraps, something crisper like maybe butter or iceberg. Overall, everything was great!

Make sure you get there for Happy Hour

First time eating at this Koni Grill in El Paso. It did not disappoint…we were seated right away even though it was somewhat crowded.

Make sure you get there for Happy Hour as the deals are much better for appetizers and drinks.

Kona specializes in sushi and margaritas.  The regular food was good and our server Laura did an excellent job engaging with us and checking up on us.

Overall I think you would love this place for family to eat.

2. Twin Peaks

twin-peaks

If you‘re hunting for an immersive gameday environment, this lively sports lodge serves as the perfect afternoon escape.

What I love most about Twin Peaks is its great lineup of scratch-made American comfort foods and signature draft beers poured at a frosty 29 degrees.

It’s easily one of the best restaurants in El Paso to catch a game with coworkers while hunting for the best happy hour El Paso deals. You can order daily drink discounts like cheap shots or shareable five-beer buckets with your group.

However, the happy hour discount is limited to just $1 off most beverages, so your savings might not add up as fast as you hope. But the lively crowd and friendly service make up for the small price drop, keeping the energy high all night.

Pros

  • Daily drink deals with cheap shots
  • Premium bourbon and whiskey bottle selection
  • Hot local delivery options available
  • Military and first responder discounts

Cons

  • Small price drop on select beverages
  • Limited non-alcoholic drink varieties

Happy Hour specials are great

Definitely the coldest draft beer in town! Happy Hour specials are great, you can’t really beat a tall draft beer for 3 bucks. Chips and queso are always my go to appetizer. Kathy and Veronica are very polite and attentive bartenders.

3. Park Tavern

park-tavern
  • Website: http://parktavernelpaso.com/
  • Address: 204 East Mills Avenue
  • Contact: (915)-228-9050
  • Hours: Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday: 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Looking for a more sophisticated evening destination right in the heart of downtown? Park Tavern is a stylish venue that strikes a beautiful balance between casual comfort and fine craft, bringing you a highly curated bar program and upscale shared plates.

While they don’t function like standard caterers in El Paso, their stunning private room beautifully overlooks San Jacinto Plaza. You can sample unique artisanal cocktails, such as a smoked old-fashioned or a hibiscus margarita, during their afternoon specials.

On the downside, the discounted menu items lean heavily toward tiny pre-appetizer bites instead of filling entrees, which might disappoint those seeking a massive meal.

Nonetheless, this is a fantastic option for a stylish pre-dinner drink, delivering a truly memorable best happy hour experience for cocktail enthusiasts.

Pros

  • Unique and creative artisanal cocktails
  • Elevated dinner menu options available
  • Homemade red beer upgrade option
  • Beautifully designed private room space

Cons

  • Small pre-appetizer food bite selections
  • Higher standard menu prices

Fantastic dining experience

Service was prompt and friendly. The food was amazing, particularly the chef’s special ribeye with truffle fries. Dessert was a sinfully delectable churro sundae. We also lucked out and got there in time for a half off bottle of wine for happy hour. All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience.

Happy hour recommended

Definitely show up for their happy hour. Kenny is a great bartender. He makes a delicious mezcal margarita to go with a Caesar salad (get it with salmon, medium). Rodrigo is always ready to make a great aperitif for your meal.

4. Soggy Peso El Paso

soggy-peso-el-paso

Gathering your entire family and your four-legged best friend for an afternoon outing has never been simpler, thanks to Soggy Peso El Paso.

This massive venue is the largest beer garden in the city, offering an extensive draft selection of over 60 taps in an energetic outdoor setting.

A colleague of mine told me that the casual backyard aesthetic makes you feel completely relaxed the moment you walk through the gates.

It’s also great that the management regularly keeps things exciting by hosting community gatherings like local fashion shows and group workouts.

However, because this is an entirely open-air space, your overall comfort depends largely on the local weather forecast.

So, it’s best to pick a clear afternoon to fully enjoy their house-made limoncello spritzers and the best happy hour atmosphere in El Paso.

Pros

  • Over sixty different beers on tap
  • Family and dog-friendly outdoor environment
  • Lively local community hub events
  • Creative seasonal spritz beverage options

Cons

  • Weather-dependent outdoor environment seating

Good happy hour

Overall, it was a great experience. Great service and a good happy hour. I didn’t taste any of the food; I just went in for a quick happy hour. We ended up staying to hear the DJ.

Initially, groups of kids were running around. It’s a fun bar but not a kid’s playground. After an hour or so, someone from the staff helped.

Atmosphere is genuinely electric

Soggy Peso is a must-visit! The atmosphere is genuinely electric, and the patio area is nothing short of amazing—a true standout feature. We had a simply wonderful time from start to finish. We’re already counting down the days until our next visit!

  • Website: https://unbrandedtavern.com/
  • Address: 310 N Mesa St. Ste R-318
  • Contact: (915) 300-2625
  • Hours: Monday to Wednesday: 10:30 AM – 8:15 PM, Thursday: 10:30 AM – 9:15 PM, Friday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 11:15 PM, Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:15 PM

If you want to grab an afternoon bite that actively supports your community, this downtown establishment is a fantastic choice.

Unbranded Tavern stands out as a socially responsible neighborhood tavern, and it serves up incredibly satisfying comfort food. You shouldn’t miss out on its famous signature smash burgers on sweet Hawaiian buns when you’re here!

They also prioritize the local economy by featuring regional beers and spirits behind the bar. You can pair your drink with popular local specialties like rolled beef tacos or loaded fries.

But if you are trying to stick to a strict diet, keep in mind that the menu features mostly fried options and heavy, meat-focused dishes.

Nonetheless, it remains an amazing spot to treat yourself to the best of El Paso’s happy-hour culinary staples without breaking your budget.

Pros

  • Signature sweet Hawaiian roll buns
  • Local business beer and spirit sourcing
  • Unique frozen non-alcoholic beverage options
  • Highly rated regional culinary staples

Cons

  • Fried food and a heavy meat-centric menu
  • Minimal choices for strict vegans

Recommended

Bernice and Alexa (trainee) were our servers and both were fantastic.  We enjoyed happy hour Margaritas. The regular and mango  on the rock are very tasty. (They really have tequila) and are hand mixed.

We ordered the Baja fish tacos. Highly recommend!

We will be back.

Prices were attractive

Cool modern place downtown. Simple but very nice decor. The carne asada fries were very good. Bacon avocado smash burger was very tasty, it was extremely tall as they load it up with everything and put it on a 2 x 2 section of sweet Hawaiian rolls which was very unique. Chicken tacos were good. Good service. They have a Happy Hour which takes $ off the shareables and drinks. Prices were attractive for downtown.
