According to the National Golf Foundation, more than ⅓ of the U.S. population over the age of 5 plays golf. So, it’s no surprise people commonly search for “golf instructor near me” on Google.
But when you’re just starting off, finding the right golf instructor isn’t always easy.
Some coaches focus on the old-school feel of the game, while others use high-tech training stimulations that look more like something out of a NASA training center.
As someone interested in golf, I’ve learned that how you practice matters more than how often you practice. So to help those still struggling to find a coach, I had my team take a few classes with me to determine which golf coaches in El Paso are worth it.
Here are the ones we found that deliver real value and might be the perfect fit for you!
How much do golf lessons cost in El Paso?
Golf lessons in El Paso cost at least $50 per session. The actual cost will depend on the instructor, the type of lesson, the number of lessons, and other factors.
1. Studio Golf El Paso

Address: 7460 Cimarron Market Ave, Building 4, Suite 100
Contact Details: +1 915-337-7817
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 9 PM
Studio Golf focuses on their student’s natural body movements to get the most out of every session. That personalized approach, we think, helps students learn golf much faster.
Every private golf lesson at Studio Golf uses TrackMan to measure ball speed, spin rate, and more. This instant feedback allows golfers to see the numbers immediately.
We also love that they use Sportsbox AI, which generates a 3D model of a golfer’s swing from a single video. It breaks down movement joint by joint, so students can see how small shifts in their posture affect their entire swing.
Another strong point is their structured follow-up system. After each lesson, the coach uploads drills to their in-bay touchscreen system.
When students come back to practice, they can follow their personalized plan and watch demo videos. Comparing their swing to when they started is also a lot easier.
Membership also offers great value. Members get unlimited bay time, access to fitness equipment, and better pricing.
That said, since it’s a member-focused club, non-members may find it challenging to book prime weekend morning slots.
Always very helpful

2. GOLFTEC El Paso

Address: 641 N Resler Dr #304
Contact Details: +1 915-308-0880
Operating Hours:
- Monday, Wednesday to Friday – 9 AM to 7 PM
- Saturday – 9 AM to 4 PM
What we love most about GOLFTEC El Paso is their thorough and disciplined approach. They don’t jump into fixing things until they fully understand their student’s swing.
Their lessons start with a swing analysis using OPTIMOTION technology, which measures a golfer’s movement in real time. This data-driven foundation removes all the “maybe” from your lesson.
From there, lessons are built around a clear improvement plan. Coaches create roadmaps that help sessions feel connected and purposeful.
We also like that they don’t keep students stuck indoors forever. They eventually move golfers outside for on-course lessons, where they learn course management, which is basically the strategy of where to hit the ball to avoid trouble.
We also like that they revisit on-course sessions later to make sure scores are actually dropping. As players progress, they can add club fitting or short game sessions, which makes sense since so many strokes happen close to the green.
The only downside we found is that many coaches book up two weeks in advance, so people can’t always get a lesson on short notice.
Don’t regret it at all
“Came in years ago for lessons but had to let it go because of added responsibilities. Started going again about 2 months ago and I’ve seen great improvements in my game. I used my instructor’s recommendation for clubs and that also added to my overall satisfaction. I signed up for extra lessons and don’t regret it at all. If you’re ready to get serious about improving your game, get in to GOLFTEC”

3. Perfectswing4u Golf Academy

Address: 5864 N Mesa St A
Contact Details: +1 915-449-3613
Operating Hours:
- Monday & Tuesday – 10 AM to 7 PM
- Wednesday to Friday – 10 AM to 6 PM
Perfectswing4u Golf Academy offers a well-rounded setup that goes beyond just swing instruction. They also handle club fitting and equipment services, which makes it convenient to keep everything in one place.
What also stands out is the balance between mechanics and strategy. Golf lessons focus not only on improving your swing but also on playing smarter, especially in competitive situations.
We found their junior programs clearly structured by age group. Younger kids learn basics through fun, engaging games.
For high school players, they provide one-on-one instruction from PGA pros and tailored programs. Mental game and course strategy are part of the mix as well.
For serious players, on-course swing analysis at Painted Dunes is a significant benefit. Instead of just hitting off a rubber mat at a range, students can play a Par 3, 4, and 5 with a PGA pro.
We also appreciate their use of launch monitors and video analysis in standard lessons. These keep instructions modern and measurable.
Just be aware that because they use outdoor courses, lessons can sometimes get pushed back if a local tournament is hogging the tee times.
PROS
- Combines swing, strategy, and competition prep
- Strong junior programs by age group
- One-on-one instruction
- On-course swing analysis
- Launch monitor and video feedback
- Club fitting and equipment services
CONS
- Lessons can be pushed back sometimes
Has given me advice on things to practice
“Did the 5 lesson package with Memo, really nice guy and great instructor. Can see a real difference from where my swing was when I walked in to where it is now. Has given me advice on things to practice on when I’m practicing at the range or thought process while playing a round. 100% recommend this place!”

Memo is a fantastic instructor
“The best academy in El Paso by far. Memo is a fantastic instructor, he’s done my swing wonders and has helped my mental game and course management skills improve in just 4 classes. Can’t wait to see the entire progress once I’m done with my lessons! Also, the facility is 10/10 and they have all the equipment and tools needed to aid their teachings.”

4. Honors Golf Academy Inc

Address: 5633 Navarie Pl
Contact Details:+19155874653
We found Honors Golf Academy a great fit for El Paso golfers who want flexibility. They specialize in private golf lessons, and golfers can choose to train in their enclosed hitting area or go out to a local golf course.
Each lesson is about thirty minutes long, but students can book multiple back-to-back for longer training. We think it’s refreshing that they don’t push you into a long-term package. Students can book as needed, which makes it low-pressure.
They work with everyone from beginners to scratch golfers, and they customize each lesson to what the students want to improve.
We also love that they use video analysis to help students visualize what they are doing right and wrong, which is a great tool for visual learners.
For players who like learning on the course, they offer 9-hole lessons at select local courses. This lets students practice things like club selection and course management in real time.
The only downside is that they can be a little hard to get a hold of. A few people told us that when they called, it took a few tries to get an answer.
Jack is very professional and patient
“I went to my first golf lesson ever with Jack and went from barely being not knowing how to hold a club to learning about the proper mechanics and being able to hit proper stance and aim. Jack is very professional and patient. I am already signed up for a second lesson.”
- Luisa Resendiz, Google Reviews
Patient and helpful
“Me. Welch is a total pro and will help a beginner to be better and learn to play golf. Trust me I could not hit the ball at all. Mr. Welch was patient and helpful and now I am slowly crushing the ball.”

5. First Tee of Greater El Paso

Address: 6900 Delta Dr
Contact Details: +19152526511
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 9 AM to 5 PM
First Tee takes a different approach from traditional golf coaches in El Paso. While golf skills are taught and honed, the bigger focus is on character development.
They use the game to teach life skills such as conflict resolution and goal setting. It’s definitely an interesting perspective because they turn the golf course into a classroom for the real world.
Coaches are trained in positive youth development too, so the learning environment is supportive and encouraging for kids of all backgrounds.
Their approach proves to be effective based on the feedback we heard. Parents we talked to shared that their children have become more confident both on and off the course since joining.
The classes are level-based too, starting with the “PLAYer” level for kids as young as seven. As they get older and better, they move up to “Ace,” which focuses on career education and giving back to El Paso.
But keep in mind that since these are group-based chapter programs, their students don’t get the same one-on-one mechanical “swing-fixing” time they might get at a private academy.
They teach them everything about golf
“This is such s cool way to get kids into golf. They teach them everything about golf and about being a good person. I love that they teach kids of all ages and skills. They have clubs in case your child doesn’t. Register really. They often have a wait list.”
