Dealing with death is never easy. On top of the personal grief, you want to make sure your loved one is remembered in the best way possible—and a proper funeral service can really help with that.
We’ve received a lot of inquiries about this from people who lost their loved ones, and it breaks our hearts when we can’t provide them with concrete recommendations.
So, we finally decided to set out and find the best funeral services in El Paso. We talked to locals, compared offerings, and reached out to funeral homes to find ones that won’t add to your grief.
Here are the ones that stood out for their empathetic, professional service.
How much do funeral services cost in El Paso?
Funeral services in El Paso typically range from about $1,200 for a simple direct cremation to $7,000–$9,500 for a full traditional burial with viewing and ceremony.
1. Funeraria del Angel Central

Address: 3839 Montana Ave
Phone: +1 915-779-9681
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
Funeraria del Angel Central focuses on giving Hispanic families respectful and thoughtful services. Their staff is bilingual, which makes everything easier.
They offer all the usual options—cremation, burials, pre-planning—and do it in a very flexible and personal manner.
From what we’ve heard, the place has been recently renovated. It now has two chapels that can hold 275 and 200 people, plus areas for family and friends to gather.
Many clients said the team really thinks through every detail, even handling unusual requests.
One family mentioned how the team worked with the police and the U.S. Army to arrange a special escort and honour guards.
We also liked that they offer flexible payment plans for those facing financial strain.
The main thing to keep in mind is that a few clients felt communication could be better since there are occasional delays in responses.
The comfort and care they bring you is phenomenal
“Funeraria del Angels Central is highly recommended for you or your loved ones. The comfort and care they bring you is phenomenal. Their prices are reasonable and understandable when it comes to helping you with your finances. After helping my family out with both my grandparents and my aunt, I’m glad I chose them with my father.”

2. Hillcrest Funeral Home

Address: 1060 N Carolina Dr
Phone: +1 915-621-1493
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
Hillcrest Funeral Home stands out for how much they offer and how flexible they are.
They’ve got a big chapel and several gathering rooms. We liked that you can add your own music, photos, or have an officiant lead the service.
One family said that Edward, the funeral director, even helped them plan everything from another state. He patiently guided them through all the options and took care of every little detail.
People also mentioned that the team keeps helping even after the service.
A big plus is their in-house crematorium—the only one in El Paso. Families liked that they didn’t have to send their loved one out of state for cremation.
They also know their stuff when it comes to veterans, being a Level Two Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans. They can help with all the benefits and services for military families.
That said, they’re not perfect. A few people said some personal requests weren’t followed exactly, like jewellery or makeup not being done the way the family wanted.
We are truly grateful for the dignity and respect they showed
“I want to sincerely thank Hillcrest Funeral Home and Hector Chavira for the beautiful service they provided for my mom. Every detail was handled with care, compassion, and professionalism. My mom looked absolutely beautiful, peaceful and radiant, and that brought so much comfort to our family. The staff was kind, patient, and understanding during such a difficult time. We are truly grateful for the dignity and respect they showed throughout the entire process. Thank you for helping us honor her in such a meaningful way.”

3. Funeraria del Angel Restlawn

Address: 8817 Dyer St
Phone: +1 915-745-7714
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
Funeraria del Angel Restlawn’s setup is designed for one family at a time. This means the team can focus entirely on your needs without juggling multiple events.
This makes them strong for clients who like privacy and hands-on support throughout the service.
Many clients have noted the staff’s attentiveness to every detail. Guests are guided to appropriate areas, and they will even coordinate respectful transfers to the cemetery.
They offer all kinds of services: cremations, traditional funerals, with options for extended visitations either at the funeral home or at your home.
They’re bilingual, and if a certain music is important to you, they can accommodate that.
We’ve also heard about small and meaningful extras, such as unexpected memory boxes and the flight of doves. It elevates the service beyond standard expectations.
The chapel and hospitality area are comfortable. The parking at the back makes the processions easier too.
The downside? A few people mentioned that the sound system and TV screens didn’t work well. So if you’re planning a service that relies heavily on tech, that could be frustrating.
Having people like Jaime and the team helps wonders
“Death is most often something we do not expect to happen, but when it does, having people like Jaime and the team helps wonders. They did amazing, from explaining step by step the process, to making sure our daddy’s set-up was beautiful. Kind of weird to say this, but when you’re in a situation like this, I highly recommend Funeraria del Angel Restlawn.”

We also liked that they can make personalised tribute videos, which can be played at the service or shared online.
Based on what we’ve heard, their staff are professional, patient, and compassionate.
Families noticed how attentive they are to details. They even continue to offer support after the service, checking in to see how everyone’s doing. We appreciate this so much.
On the downside, some families found the flower prices higher than expected. The extra fees were also not clearly explained up front.
So if you’re trying to stick to a tight budget, that’s something to keep in mind.
The ceremonies were beautiful
“The staff at Sunset Funeral Home are very caring, friendly, considerate, and thoughtful. We, unfortunately, buried our parents within four months of each other, and the staff made a difficult task manageable. Michael and the staff were exceptional. They patiently and lovingly guided the family through every step. I commend them for their respectful service. Without hesitation, we will seek out their services when the need arises again. The ceremonies were beautiful. Thank you.”
