Some places are genuinely impressive. Others are fine for a short stay but would be hard to recommend for anything longer.
We visited several facilities in person, paid attention to how the dogs already there were behaving, and asked detailed questions about how the days were actually structured.
After dropping by a few around town, here are our favourites.
How much does dog boarding cost in El Paso?
Dog boarding in El Paso typically ranges from $30 to $75 per night depending on the facility and the level of care.
1. EP Barks and Rec (formerly D’Lux Dog Care)

When we walked in for a tour of EP Barks and Rec, the first thing we noticed was the kennels or rather, the lack of it. We love that their facility is kennel-free.
Dogs were moving around in the play areas, but it was not the wall-of-sound chaos people find in lower-quality facilities.
They require an evaluation for every dog before boarding to keep the environment safe for all. Any dog that doesn’t make the cut doesn’t get a spot to stay. So, those with aggressive pups might want to think twice before bringing their dog here.
That aside, we like how the team understands dog behaviour beyond the basics. They ask about the history with other dogs before anything else.
Food-wise their Pup Pantry is chef curated, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We love the adorable custom cakes and cupcakes ready for any pup.
Updates during the stays comes through reliably, including photos, which cut the anxious-owner checking significantly.
They also offer daycare, so customers can ease their dog in before a longer boarding stay.
We would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be using them again!

2. The Pet Barracks

The Pet Barracks is for owners who like structure. Dogs who stay here start their day at
5:45 AM with breakfast time. We love how they display their full schedule on their site to alleviate anxious owners.
The dogs that are boarded are calm. Owners we interviewed said they’ve never seen visible distress, or hear persistent barking.
We like that their dog boarders are aware of the fact that not all pets like group play, so they customize the pet’s care according to their individual needs.
Prior to each stay, owners are required to create a pet profile on their site and show proof of vaccines. A social evaluation is available, but it starts at $25. Another thing to keep in mind is that any female dogs over 6 months old must be spayed to stay here.
That said, pet parents we interviewed love that their dogs get rotated playtime throughout the day.
We love that the dogs are provided with comfortable bedding, toys, and dog pools.
The 24-hour video surveillance by management
and climate controlled rooms also comforts parents leaving their dogs behind for the first time.
We will definitely be coming back!
“The Pet Barracks took such good care of our fur baby Duke! After Duke passed his social eval and met the friendly staff we immediately did daycare and boarding.
The staff was great at communication when it came to pick-up and drop-off, which made it easy and quick!
After picking up Duke he was nothing but happy and enriched, he was always excited to get dropped off!
You can tell the staff really does put in the care. We also got their Valentine’s box of treats, which didn’t last long. We will definitely be coming back!”

“This is probably one of the best dog boarding places I’ve ever seen. They will call you for even the smallest things, like putting sunscreen on your pooch’s snoot because they see it’s getting red. They do a good job at make sure the dogs are safe, happy, and healthy. Weekly report cards with pictures will put your mind at ease. They even will take care of your dog if you have to deploy. Knowing that’s even an option is incredible. I wish there was a Pet Barracks near every installation and had the same level of care, cleanliness, and customer service. 👏👏”

3. The Fur Seasons: Pet Hotel & Grooming

The Fur Seasons is one of the most fully-fitted pet facilities in the city. The 7,000 square-foot indoor-outdoor space offers Luxe Suites with orthopedic Kuranda beds.
Each space also comes with a TV running dog-friendly entertainment, and calming anti-anxiety music. We love that dogs here get a gourmet daily treat like a doggie frappuccino, an ice cream cup, or a specialty snack.
Pet parents get daily photo update report cards so they know exactly what their pups got up to.
Every stay includes a free daycare session. Before any dog joins group play, the facility runs a Meet and Greet to assess temperament, comfort level, and socialization fit.
If group play isn’t the right match for a particular dog, they still get one-on-one time and individual play.
We like that the facility uses only rubber toys and non-fabric bedding to keep the environment chew-proof and hygienic.
The only minor gripe? Their weekend boarding has a noon pickup requirement. So, busy pet parents should plan their pick up times.

Booking was super easy because you can do it all online through their website. Juan (the owner) is very responsive and always eager to answer any questions you may have about your pets stay or the other services they provide. All of the staff I have encountered have been very friendly. They uploaded pictures of our dog, Bear, while he was staying with them, which put our minds at ease while being away from him. We also used their grooming services recently as well, which are very reasonably priced, especially for how large our dog is, and our boy looked great. They do also offer a military discount, which is always an added bonus, and they offer cat boarding as well which I thought was pretty neat. Definitely check them out! :)”

“My doggie Franklin has the best time going to the fur seasons for daycare!!! They always treat him very kindly, and are very safe when allowing different pets to meet each other. 4. Howl-a-Day Inn Dog Boarding & Daycare

At Howl-a-Day Inn, Melina has built something that is genuinely different. The setting is the farming countryside, open air, with space to run. It’s as far from a commercial kennel as people can get while still being a professional operation.
We appreciate that the pricing is all-inclusive with no hidden extras. Playtime, food, homemade snacks, treats, and medication administration are all included.
Some facilities tack on a daycare surcharge to the boarding fee, but HADI doesn’t.
The facility is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week too.
Pet parents we spoke to like that the dogs are matched to small groups based on personality and play style.
Others appreciate that for nervous first-time boarders, Melina allows time during morning drop-offs for first-timers to acclimate before the day begins.
For those working with dog trainers in El Paso, the trial daycare visit at HADI is a useful low-stakes way to see how a dog handles other dogs.
The only minor con is that HADI only allows a select number of dogs due to space.

915 Dog Boarding is a family-founded dog boarding space that’s climate-controlled with spacious suites, and comfortable bedding. The indoor play area is supervised and comes with professional grooming and bathing stations.
Every dog that stays here is up-to-date on vaccines, so new pet owners can feel comfortable leaving puppies here. We like that the dogs stay in private suites and are on a feeding schedule that matches their normal routine.
Natalie, the main dog watcher, came up in almost every interview we did. People told us that Natalie sent photo and video updates every day without being asked.
Others with dogs who had health conditions said Natalie handled the medication with flexibility and care.
The facility also offers delivery and pickup, which is a practical advantage for owners who can’t easily transport a large dog or are tight on time before a trip.
However, they are closed Sundays. So, anyone who needs Sunday stays, should make alternative arrangements.
