Confession: I’m one of those folks that can’t function without a cup of coffee. It’s not even just when I wake up, either. Sitting down to write? Gotta brew a cup beforehand. Deciding what to do in El Paso? Better pick up a cup so I’m awake while I wander!

It also helps that there’s so many ways to make coffee. Drip, instant, French press, with sugar or cream, and so much more. With that in mind, you can probably see why finding a coffee shop usually tops the priority of most friend groups on outings.

There’s no shortage of good coffee in El Paso, to the point where finding a new favorite brew is guaranteed. My friends and I even made a challenge to find a new shop each, and guess what? We’ve rounded up our top picks right here for fellow caffeine fans.

How much does it cost to buy coffee in El Paso?

Getting a cup of coffee in El Paso can cost you anywhere from $3 to $7 per serving, depending on the type of drink, any mix-ins or add-ons and the size.

A good cup of coffee always starts from the humble bean and gets additional mix-ins to suit your taste. So you can imagine our surprise when coffee lovers put 787 Coffee on our radar for their specialty beans!

With that kind of reception, we couldn’t resist a visit of our own. What we found didn’t disappoint: we walked into a fairly large cafe with plenty of seating, both for customers indoors or those looking to sit outdoors.

Of course, we took the chance to check out their coffee. While the shop offered classics like espressos and lattes, we especially appreciated the options for infused coffee beans, including some with rum, whiskey or even tequila.

With such a unique menu, it can be a bit intimidating to pick what to try. Luckily, customers we got to chat with were happy to praise the team’s recommendations, which notably took account of customers’ tastes and preferences for drinks.

If you’re planning to visit, we’d recommend taking the time to walk there or try to arrive early. We found the parking space in and around the coffee shop pretty limited, making getting there by car a bit tricky.

Pros

  • Reliable staff recommendations
  • Wide variety of seating options
  • Good selection of infused coffee beans

Cons

  • Limited parking on location

Always trust your barista

“I ordered my normal iced latte and she gave me an amazing recommendation to get it infused. Always trust your barista. It was delicious and served in this dope biodegradable bag.”

“This Cafe experience was amazing! The barista Elise was super sweet. Service was fast and the tea was amazing! Super friendly and cozy environment, especially during final season!”

Look, we’ve all had those hectic mornings, right? Sometimes we’re running so late to work that we don’t have much time to stop and wait for a good cup of joe. Fortunately, locals looking for quick and good coffee swear by Global Coffee Roasters!

On our visit, we did note that the shop was on the smaller side, even compared to other coffee shops around the area. This did mean that there was pretty limited seating indoors, making longer stays at the shop trickier.

That being said, the shop was home to quite a variety of drinks, all at pretty reasonable prices. Our group managed to order several specialty drinks like their ube matcha and Hawaiian latte with pastries and still not feel like we were on a tight budget!

We also appreciated their timeliness. From what we got to see, the lines were adequately managed with orders coming in and out quickly and without much fuss, which is handy for customers in a rush.

Finally, we also noticed a regularly rotating specialty menu at the shop depending on the season and for various holidays. If you’re looking to find a new favorite, coming in regularly is recommended!

Pros

  • Quick and timely service
  • Specialty rotating menus for various events
  • Reasonable prices for drinks

Cons

  • Limited indoor seating

The coffee is consistently excellent

“After trying other local coffee shops, nothing beats Global Coffee. The coffee is consistently excellent every single time, which is hard to find. The staff is always friendly. The bagels are delicious, and their coffee beans are just as high quality.”

– Ms. Beth C., Google Review

Everything comes out really fast

“We come to Global Coffee on Zaragoza almost every Saturday with my wife and daughter, and it’s always a great experience. The flavor of the drinks is always spot on, the service is super friendly, and everything comes out really fast.”

There’s nothing that quite matches the ambiance of a coffee shop, making them perfect as hangout spots. With so many in El Paso we found it tricky to narrow down our choices, but one thing for sure: locals sure loved mentioning District Coffee!

Right off the jump, we could see a good reason why! The shop itself was pretty easy to locate without having to consult directions, and there was more than enough parking available on site as well.

We had no complaints about the indoor seating once we got in. The whole cafe had a comfortable and relaxing ambiance, with most of the seating having excellent views of the street and the cafe around us!

The shop itself had quite a range of coffee drinks, from their house coffee to specialties like the Abuelita latte. We appreciated the customization options on these as well, allowing customers to substitute milk and add certain flavor syrups to taste!

We also noticed some light food items on the menu such as sandwiches, though a few customers did let us know that these could take longer to come out. We’d definitely keep a visit here for a day when you’re free!

Pros

  • Comfortable and pleasant ambiance
  • Easy location with ample parking
  • Wide customization options for drinks

Cons

  • Long waiting time for food

Have yet to be disappointed

“I’m slowly trying everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The dirty horchata latte is so delicious and made me fall in love with this place! It’s so cozy and the staff is always friendly, plus they play the best music!”

– Ms. Angie Thompson, Google Review

If you’ve been on the hunt for unique coffee shops around El Paso, there’s a chance you might have spotted Coffee Box. This charming little spot was impossible to miss once we caught wind of it: just keep an eye out for an orange container!

Dropping by for a visit, we found their decor and styling charming! That said, with their seating limited to the space allocated upstairs, we did find that these could be pretty limited both for indoor and outdoor diners.

When ordering, we were pretty surprised by the variety of drinks and flavors they offered. The shop offered everything from tea to agua fresca, but what really caught our eye were the specialty coffee drinks, including horchata latte and nitro coffee.

Their menu was rather reasonably priced in our book too. We mostly went in for drinks, but customers we got to chat with mentioned being able to comfortably order several drinks, pastries and food items without straining their wallet!

If you’re looking to take some of their drinks back to friends and family, the Coffee Box also offers party boxes for those looking to taste test several flavors at once.

Pros

  • Wide variety of unique flavors and drinks
  • Party boxes available
  • Budget-friendly costs for food and drinks

Cons

  • Limited seating available

I love the environment they have created

“This is my third time coming and if that doesn’t tell you something I don’t know what will. Drinks are really good and I love the environment they have created. Service was eager to serve and attentive. I downloaded the app and will certainly be back.“

– Mr. Lance Lawshe, Google Review

Always such a pleasant visit every time

“Coffee Box is my favorite spot for matchas! The drinks are always delicious, and the vibe is so inviting. Jimmy and Chloe were both super kind and made the experience even better. Always such a pleasant visit every time I stop by.”

– Ms. Leslie Baca, Google Review

Would you be surprised if we said we came across the Bravo Coffee House while looking into restaurants in El Paso? With locals swearing by both the food and the coffee here, we just had to drop by and see the fuss for ourselves!

We were immediately pleased to walk into the cafe. There was more than enough seating, and it wasn’t hard at all to navigate in between. We came with a pretty large group and managed to get comfortable seating that kept all of us together!

With a drink menu spanning everything from house brew espresso to teas and affogato, it could be a bit daunting to browse. Fortunately, the team was more than happy to give us some guidance and recommendations on what to order!

Once we got our drinks, we were pretty pleased with the quality. Customers around us also praised the ingredients in their drinks, including ceremonial grade matcha, house-made syrups and real cacao.

That being said, we’d definitely advise not coming in too thirsty. We found the serving sizes for both food and drinks to be on the smaller side, so we’d save this spot for a quick treat or brunch.

Pros

  • Ample seating space
  • Reliable staff recommendations
  • Good quality of ingredients used in drinks

Cons

  • Smaller serving sizes

The atmosphere is perfect for a brunch date

“First time here, and will certainly come back! The atmosphere is perfect for a brunch date or study session. This place feels like out of a fall movie, perfect for the season. The staff is very welcoming and very helpful when you have questions.”

– Ms. Lucero Limas, Google Review

Know what they’re doing with the food and coffee

“Wow, I’m SO impressed with this coffee shop! Such a hidden gem in El Paso! They clearly know what they’re doing with the food and coffee. We got the French toast and avocado toast and it was all AMAZING! 10/10 in every way!!!”

– Ms. Hannah Faith Melton, Google Review
