The Only List You Need to Find the Architect in El Paso for Your Dream Home

architect-in-el-paso
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Local Knowledge and Experience: We learned that building a home isn’t just about finishes and paint colors. You also need to follow building codes and consider things like the type of soil, terrain and even the climate. So it only made sense that we include architects who have good local knowledge and experience.

Credentials: Architects have a highly technical job that requires a lot of skills and expertise. We only recommended architects who are fully licensed by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners and those with other accreditations and licenses.

Fee Structure: Working with the right architect means understanding their fee structure to know whether it works for you or not. Some architects do hourly rates while others charge a percentage of your total project cost. Either way, we chose architects who can offer you the best fee structure for your build.

There are days when we’d drive around rich neighborhoods just to look at beautiful homes and dream that we’d own one soon.

Then, the time came when we could finally make that happen and we knew right away that we needed one person – a good architect in El Paso.

That journey led us through hours of research and while our dream home is now built, we realized that you might also need our list of top five architects in the city. So, here it is.

How much can you expect to pay for the services of an architect in El Paso?

An architect in El Paso usually charges between 8% and 15% of the total cost of the construction project. Some also charge hourly rates between $100 and $150. New builds are also generally cheaper than home remodels because of their complexity.

When we started asking around for architects in El Paso, most of our family and friends recommended Carl Daniel Architects because they’re one of the longest-running firms in the city and have completed more than $4 million projects over the years.

In fact, they’ve built some of the most notable buildings in town including hospitals, schools and retail buildings. But they also cater to home builds of all shapes and sizes.

We visited them for a consultation and you can tell that they really know their craft well. From asking us about our vision for our home to helping us understand the technicalities that come with it, we were thoroughly impressed.

Being a prestigious firm in El Paso, you can expect to pay a premium for Carl Daniel. But with their level of expertise and a team who gets things done efficiently, you wouldn’t really mind spending on them.

A friend once described New Republic Architects as a lifesaver because they were the only firm that solved their problem with a build. And when you see that type of commitment, you know that you’ve found a good architect in El Paso.

So we did a bit more bidding and discovered that they’ve been around since 2004. Although newer than other firms, they’ve proven their worth through many finished projects showing distinctive design.

What sets them apart, however, is their accessibility to clients. If you’ve tried booking consultations with other architects, you know how it can take days – even weeks sometimes.

But that’s not the case with this firm. They accept same-day appointments and are even available any time of the day if you need them. That gives you so much peace of mind knowing that your architect is on call.

They’re also known to address concerns right away and even save clients from failed projects done by other firms.

Pros

  • Has been around since 2004
  • Offers comprehensive architectural services
  • Easy appointments and accessibility

Cons

  • You need to book projects as early as possible

They came through for me at an affordable price and in a short period of time.

“I needed an architect to do a site development plan required by the City to request a special use zoning change for my home. I called over a dozen architects and they all blew me off. New Republic was the only firm that asked me to send them a copy of what the City was requiring to see if it was something they could help me with. They came through for me at an affordable price and in a short period of time. Thank you!”
