Much like recruitment agencies match the right person to the right role, A&R matches each of its clients to the exact combination of services their business actually needs.
Bank reconciliation is where we think their work really earns its keep. Every month, the team combs through transactions to catch lost deposits and flags anything that looks like internal theft.
From there, they produce income statements and balance sheets. Others we spoke to appreciated that the general ledger review hunts down double billings and missing payments before they compound into bigger problems.
Unlimited consultations are included in the price, so people are never charged extra just for asking a question.
They also do forensic accounting work. People have used them for everything from employee theft investigations to litigation support in court cases, coordinating with civil litigation lawyers when needed.
That said, they aren’t the most punctual. A few people said their accountant ran a bit late sometimes.

Their outsourced CFO service is the clearest example. Just as financial advisors map out a long-term wealth plan for individuals, Butterworth & Macias maps out the financial road ahead for a business through forecasting, budgeting, and senior-level oversight.
People we interviewed said having that strategic layer made it easier for them to make wise financial decisions.
We like that their cash flow evaluation is paired with active profitability improvement. This means the team doesn’t just report numbers, but helps their clients shift them. Internal controls for fraud prevention are added too.
Businesses told us that they appreciated the protective infrastructure for their finances. Use and sales tax processing is handled end-to-end too.
We like the custom financial reports that make it easier for people to present clean data to lenders or board members when it counts.
Our only gripe is that this firm isn’t the best for larger corporate accounting. They lean towards smaller businesses.

We appreciate that bookkeeping and payroll are handled end-to-end. They cover tax categories, W2s, and all the compliance details that pile up when a business starts bringing on staff.
The only con is that their schedule gets packed early on. We’d recommend calling ahead of time to schedule an appointment.

Much like recruitment agencies work in the interest of a clean match rather than one party winning, their arrangement keeps both sides cooperative and cuts the fees each has to carry separately.
Their work covers estate settlements, business valuations, fraud investigations, and El Paso tax accountant services support for active litigation.
We think their background in tax law and banking gives the partners a layered view that a general accountant cannot replicate.
However, the firm’s deep specialization means clients looking for everyday El Paso accounting and payroll services will need to look elsewhere.
